Stabilizers

Protection, Durability and Reliability

MasterPlast develops stabilizer masterbatches to enhance UV resistance, thermo-oxidative stability, and color consistency of PE/PP/XPE articles and other polymers, while maintaining processability and long-term performance.

Our stabilizer masterbatches combine primary/secondary antioxidants, UV absorbers and HALS to protect finished products from the effects of light, heat and oxidation.
Formulations are optimized for LDPE/HDPE, PP and XPE foams, as well as technical films and sheets. Our tailor-made approach allows us to balance durability, color and workability, reducing yellowing and embrittlement. In line with the MasterPlast philosophy, we supply masterbatches (not pure additives) for simple and safe plant integration.

Why choose our stabilizer masterbatches

  • UV protection: UV absorber/HALS combinations for outdoor and demanding environments.
  • Thermal stability: antioxidant packages to limit oxidation during processing and service life.
  • Color control: reduced yellowing and improved color retention.
  • Polymer compatibility: selected carrier resins for PE/PP/XPE and other polymers upon request.
  • Application support: dosage definition, in-house testing and process guidelines.

Applications

  • Technical films and sheets for packaging and construction (UV/thermal resistance).
  • XPE foams and insulating articles for automotive/construction.
  • Extruded and molded PE/PP products for outdoor use (gardening, furniture, components).
  • Cables and conduits (thermo-oxidative stability and color retention).

Product families

  • UV stabilizers (light stabilizers) – to reduce/delay the loss of optical and mechanical properties in outdoor applications.
  • Thermal (thermo-oxidative) stabilizers – to protect the polymer during processing and throughout its service life.
  • Antioxidants – to counteract thermo-oxidative degradation.
  • Antistatic agents – to reduce/eliminate static electricity by making the surface slightly conductive.
  • Cleaning agents – part of the range listed in the catalogue.
