History

From foundation to leadership in masterbatches for foamed materials: milestones, strategic decisions and results.

Since 2000, we have been developing masterbatches for foamed plastic materials, with a strong specialization in crosslinked PE foams. From the production expansion in Cornate d’Adda to international growth, and through the integration of the colour masterbatch division from an industry operator, our history reflects continuous technical and industrial development that today positions us among the Italian leaders in exothermic blowing agents and crosslinking masterbatches.

2000
Foundation
MasterPlast is established

The company was founded by leveraging over ten years of experience in crosslinked PE foams and began developing masterbatches for foamed plastic materials.

2006–2007
Expansion
Production expansion in Cornate d’Adda

The facilities in Cornate d’Adda were acquired, tripling production space; manufacturing operations were relocated by mid-2007.

2009–2011
Internationalisation
Export growth and foreign market overtake

Focus on European and extra-European markets; by the end of 2011, export turnover exceeded domestic sales.

2013
Acquisition
Entry into colour masterbatches

Acquisition of a colour masterbatch business unit from an industry operator, completing the product range across a broad family of thermoplastics.

2018
Expansion
New production and warehouse facility

Acquisition of a new building dedicated to production and warehousing, increasing the total company surface area by 40%.

2019
Sustainability
First photovoltaic system (200 kW)

Installation of the first 200 kW photovoltaic system to support the company’s energy sustainability.

Trade Fairs
Exhibitor at FOAM EXPO (USA/Europe)

Since 2019, we have been exhibiting at FOAM EXPO in the United States (Detroit) and Europe (Stuttgart), strengthening our positioning in both products and machinery.

System capacity increased by an additional 150 kW, reaching approximately 40% coverage of total energy demand.
